Joan’s daughter, Catherine, is a graphic designer, webmaster, and marketing wizard. She manages an amazing team of experts that are here to deliver a first-rate, art education experience. Together this dynamic duo has created 2 separate collections.  Our individual video library houses drawing classes, where all you have to do is add your own supplies. They have also created exciting, fun-filled Thematic Courses that include 1-Doodle, 1-Draw+Paint, and 1- Sculpt video lessons.  This unique offer includes all of the supplies necessary to be able to doodle, draw, paint, and sculpt your way to success!

Coloring Club: Join our FREE Fun Art Box™ Coloring Club! Coloring Club Members will receive an email with a new coloring sheet each month.  Anyone can color the sheet and send in a selfie holding their artwork up for all to enjoy. We will be sure to share it with our Coloring Club Members in the Fun Art Box™ Art Gallery.

Drawing Classes: Fun Art Box™ drawing classes are a great way for kids and “kids at heart” to explore the world of art.  Each lesson includes fun facts, art vocabulary, and step-by-step instructions. Once you purchase a drawing class you have lifetime access to the material.  This flexibility allows you to work at your own pace in the comfort of your home. 

Fun Art Box™ enables you to tap into your creativity while exploring a variety of art projects and art materials. Students will learn how to use different drawing techniques such as overlapping geometric shapes to make new and different shapes, how to create the illusion of space using foreground, middle ground, background, shading techniques, and more.

Each 20+ minute video lesson offers art activities that nurture creativity and spark imagination. Lessons encourage independent learning, build self-confidence, and raise self-esteem. Growth Mindset vs Fixed Mindset

Joan encourages students to develop a growth mindset vs a fixed mindset. A fixed mindset is when a person believes their intelligence is static.  They tend to be unwilling to complete tasks and avoid any challenges.  Students with a fixed mindset give up easily and avoid obstacles. They may use phrases like “I can’t” or “I won’t”.  They see effort as being fruitless and therefore see little academic growth. 

According to a Washington State University Study of 5th and 7th-grade students conducted by Dr. Carol Dweck, “a person that learns using a Growth Mindset believes their intelligence can be developed.  A person that learns using a Growth Mindset embraces challenges, persists in the face of setbacks, and sees the effort as the path to mastery”.

People with a Fixed Mindset tend to not reach their full potential.  People with a Growth Mindset achieve much higher levels of success. Dweck’s research concluded that it is essential for teachers to praise a child’s effort vs his or her intelligence in order to keep motivating them. Children who are encouraged to keep going, to take risks and to work with their mistakes continue to grow and learn. Dweck also concluded that it is more important to praise effort than to praise intelligence which is exactly what Fun Art Box™ will do.
